Minister announces appointment to the Labour Relations Board

Percy Barrett, Minister of Labour, today announced the appointment of Carmel Noel as Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Relations Board.

"Carmel Noel has excellent qualifications and experience for this position," said Minister Barrett. "Ms. Noel has worked with the Labour Relations Board for 15 years and has served as acting CEO of the board for the past two years. During that time she has brought a professionalism and quality to the position that has earned her an excellent reputation in the labour relations community. I am certain she will fulfill the responsibilities of the position with skill and dedication, and I look forward to her contribution."

The Labour Relations Board is a quasi-judicial body which has the authority to deal with a wide range of labour relations applications from employers and employees in all sectors of the economy. Ms. Noel�s appointment is effective immediately.
