NLIS 3 January 29, 2003 (Forest Resources and Agrifoods) St. Brendan’s man pleads guilty to wildlife charge Cyril Alyward Jr. of St. Brendan’s was recently fined $1,000 and prohibited from holding a big game licence for five years after he pled guilty in Gander Provincial Court to hunting big game during closed season. A second man involved in the same incident also pled guilty last November on a big game charge and was also fined $1,000 and prohibited from holding a big game licence for five years. In addition to the fines, big game meat and a firearm were forfeited to the Crown in both cases. The investigation took place in the St. Brendan’s area in 2002 by Gambo district conservation officers and resulted in several residence searches and a quantity of big game meat, firearms and ammunition seized.
