NOTE TO EDITORS:

Premier Roger Grimes will on Thursday, August 14 unveil the insignia of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador, and launch the opening of nominations for the Order. Lieutenant Governor Edward Roberts and Chief Justice Clyde Wells will join with the Premier in the ceremony.

The event is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Government House, Cochrane Room.

News media representatives planning to attend are requested to use the west entrance of Government House and to be seated by 10:45 a.m. They are also asked to advise of their attendance by calling Doris Walsh at 729-3812, 685-3664.

The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador was established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour benefiting in an outstanding manner the province and its residents.
