Premier
announces appointment
Premier Roger Grimes today appointed Robert
Warren as assistant deputy minister of Parks, Natural Areas and Wildlife
with the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation based in Corner
Brook.
"Mr. Warren�s extensive career in the
public service makes him well suited to take on the challenge of ADM of
Parks, Natural Areas and Wildlife in Corner Brook," said the Premier.
"Mr. Warren�s appointment is part of the government�s strategy to
enhance delivery of services in cultural and natural heritage with the
senior position now being located at the western region headquarters."
Mr. Warren will begin his new position
immediately.

Biography
- Robert Warren
Robert Warren received his early education in
Corner Brook and St. John's before attending Memorial University. Following
university he began working for the public service. Robert has served the
service for 29 years in a variety of different capacities. His most recent
position was director of aboriginal land claims with the Department of
Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs. Prior to this he was director of land
management for the Crown Lands Branch and chair of the Interdepartmental
Land Use Committee. Robert has devoted his career to resolving land use and
resource management issues. He served for seven years on the Wilderness and
Ecological Reserves Advisory Council and was also involved in developing
policies aimed at strengthening the outfitting industry. Robert and his wife
Doreen have two sons, Mark and Mike, and a daughter Julia.
