NOTE TO EDITORS: Debate on joint fisheries management resolution to begin today, May 14

Today in the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, debate will begin on the resolution that calls for federal-provincial negotiations that would lead to establishing a joint management regime over fisheries adjacent to Newfoundland and Labrador. The resolution was introduced on May 8, 2003, by Premier Roger Grimes. The debate begins after Question Period. The House of Assembly opens today at 2:00 p.m.
