Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Pasadena/Deer Lake Resort (Golf Course, Residences, Hotel)                              (Reg. 1114)
Proponent: Timberland Golf Development Corporation

The proponent proposes an 18 hole championship golf course, a driving range, club house/pro shop, an integrated residential component, a hotel, an R.V. park, commercial tourism lots, walking/ski trails and access to the present system of snowmobile trails. The development will be located on approximately 290 hectares to the east of the Town of Pasadena along the south side of the Trans Canada Highway. Access to the site will be via Exit 13 South-East service road extension. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the April of 2004. The undertaking was registered on December 29, 2003; public comments are due by February 3, 2004; and the minister's decision is due on February 12, 2004.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
