Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Bob Mercer has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Phillips Brook / Fox Island River ATV Trail / Road
Proponent: Gerald Brake (Lewis Hills Adventures)

The proponent plans to upgrade an existing 0.5 kilometre All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) trail to accommodate summer 4-wheel drive access along a four metre wide right-of-way to a remote commercial lodge site at Phillips Brook / Fox Island River Area in western Newfoundland. Construction is planned for the fall of 2003. The project was registered on July 29, 2003; public comments are due by September 2, 2003; and, the minister�s decision is due on September 12, 2003.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
