Cabinet to meet in Corner Brook

Environment Minister Bob Mercer, MHA for Humber East, announced today that the first cabinet meeting for the new cabinet will be held in Corner Brook on Tuesday, February 25.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to welcome Premier Roger Grimes and my Cabinet colleagues to Corner Brook next week, " said Minister Mercer. "As we begin our third year under the leadership of Premier Grimes, this new Cabinet is an integral part of the plan we are developing that will set our vision for this year, the next several years and beyond that."

Minister Mercer continued: " We are preparing for the Throne Speech which will clearly identify for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador the course we will follow. Then we will present the companion piece to this, the Budget. This document will clearly define our strategy to meet commitments government has made to provide the services the people of the province expect and deserve, and will illustrate our plan of responsible fiscal management of these services."

The Cabinet will meet at the Sir Richard Squires Building.
