NLIS 6 October 29, 2002 (Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education) Minister announces re-appointments to Memorial University Board of Regents Sandra C. Kelly, Minister of Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education, today announced three re-appointments to the Memorial University of Newfoundland Board of Regents. Chris Decker, Edward Kelly and Susan Wood have been re-appointed to the Board of Regents for a three-year period effective October 21. "I am pleased to re-appoint these three individuals to the Board of Regents," said Minister Kelly. "Each has made an invaluable contribution to advancing post-secondary education in this province, and I look forward to their continued input and guidance." Chris Decker is a resident of Roddickton. He was elected to the House of Assembly in 1985; during his career he served as Minister of Health, Education and Training, and Justice. Prior to politics, he served as a United Church clergyman, was Mayor of the Town of Roddickton, and owner/operator of several businesses. He has also served on school-related boards and councils throughout the province. He has a Bachelor of Arts (English) from Memorial University and a Master of Divinity from Pine Hill Divinity Hall. Edward Kelly is a resident of Happy Valley-Goose Bay. He is a retired educator who has held positions as Program Specialist, Vice-Principal, Program Coordinator and teacher and has served on many school-related boards and committees throughout the province. He has a Bachelor of Arts (History) and a Master of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Susan Wood is a resident of Grand Bank. She has 20 years experience as an educator and has served on many school-related boards and committees throughout the province. She has a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from Wagner College, Staten Island, New York. The Memorial University Board of Regents is responsible for the management, administration and the affairs of the university.
