Minister releases 2002-2003 Newfoundland and Labrador Transfer Guide

Sandra C. Kelly, Minister of Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education, today announced that the 2002-2003 Transfer Guide is now available on-line. The electronic version includes a transfer database enabling students, faculty, administrators, and counselors to conduct a credit transfer search online.

"I am pleased to present the ninth annual Newfoundland and Labrador Transfer Guide," said Minister Kelly. "This guide is a great reference source to inform and assist students in determining transfer of credit from one institution to another within the public post-secondary system in Newfoundland and Labrador and in transferring credits to universities in the Maritime provinces."

The Newfoundland and Labrador Transfer Guide is an annual publication of the Newfoundland and Labrador Council on Higher Education. The council functions as a mechanism for active and meaningful cooperation among its members in joint planning and coordination of a variety of activities within the public education system. The council also acts as an advisory body to the minister on province-wide policy and planning issues facing the post-secondary education sector in the province.

The Transfer Guide is designed as a guidance tool to be used in conjunction with other post-secondary education and training planning resources. The guide lists established transfer of credit precedents available to students in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Transfer Guide is available on-line through the council homepage located at www.edu.gov.nf.ca/council Printed copies will be available within two weeks. To obtain a copy, please call (709) 729-5626.
