$1.3 million contract awarded for road upgrades in Ferryland

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, announced today a contract valued at $1,319,185.13 was awarded to RDN Construction Limited of St. Johns�s to complete road improvements in the Ferryland district.

Work will include:

  • upgrading and re-paving approximately 4.8 kilometres of Route 10 through Ferryland;
  • replacing culverts on Route 10 at Sam�s River;
  • upgrading and re-paving approximately 1.5 kilometres of Harbour Road, Cape Broyle;
  • upgrading and re-paving approximately 0.6 kilometres of Fairy Pond Road, Cape Broyle.

"As a department committed to improving roads and highways around the province, we are pleased to once again invest such a significant amount into upgrading roads in this district," said Minister Barrett. "Work has commenced on these projects and will be completed by July 31, 2003."
