Section of CBS by-pass opens

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Ralph Wiseman, MHA for Topsail, have announced that the section of the Conception Bay South bypass from Foxtrap Access Road to Legion Road, Kelligrews, is open to traffic.

"This new section will allow motorists the opportunity to enter and exit St. John�s quicker, while avoiding heavy traffic on the old highway," said Minister Barrett. "To date, we have invested approximately $24 million into the CBS by-pass project. This is another example of our commitment to improving the transportation infrastructure around the province, and we are pleased to once again make commuting easier for residents of Newfoundland and Labrador."

"This bypass will be a great solution to transportation problems in our area by providing for the needs of area residents. These transportation needs have increased as a result of impressive commercial and residential development and this road will accommodate future growth in the region while reconciling environmental considerations," said Ralph Wiseman, Minister of Human Resources and Employment, and MHA for Topsail.
