Contract awarded for road upgrades in Burin - Placentia West

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Mary Hodder, MHA for Burin - Placentia West, announced today a contract valued at $259,198.50 has been awarded to Hann Enterprises Limited of Port Blandford for bridge and wharf upgrades in the district.

Work will include:

  • rehabilitation of Red Harbour River Bridge - Route 210 at kilometre 123.93;
  • repairs to the deck of Townsite Road Overpass - Route 210, Marystown;
  • removal and replacement of existing damaged rubber fender at Petit Forte wharf.

"Government is continuously looking to improve the transportation system in the province and we are pleased to invest in upgrading this infrastructure in Burin - Placentia West," said Minister Barrett. "The work will commence immediately and is scheduled to be completed by September 30."

"I am pleased that this work will be moving ahead," said Ms. Hodder. "I will continue to work within government to see that other transportation projects in the district receive attention as well."
