Road upgrades underway for Terra Nova district

Works, Services and Transportation Minister Percy Barrett and Terra Nova MHA Tom Lush announced today that upgrades to roads in the Terra Nova district, valued at $618,787.98, are underway.

The contract for the upgrades, which was awarded to Terra Nova Industries Limited of Glovertown, includes:

  • upgrading and paving Route 310, kilometre 0 to 2.5 at Glovertown;
  • upgrading and paving Route 310, kilometre 8.3 to 10.3 at Traytown;
  • minor upgrading of Route 310-41 on St. Brendan�s Island;
  • replacing culvert on Trans Canada Highway approximately 4.2 kilometres west of Glovertown.

"We are pleased to be able to improve roads in the Terra Nova district this year," said Minister Barrett. "These projects are underway and are scheduled to be completed by September 30."

"I am pleased to see government has once again committed infrastructure funding to the Terra Nova District," said Minister Lush. "This road work will improve access to the area and doubtlessly have a major impact on the social and economic success of the region."
