Continued road improvements for Cape St. Francis district

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, announced today government has allocated funding through its 2002-2003 provincial capital roads program to improve roads in Cape St. Francis.

"This year we will make improvements to Route 20, as well as continue with paving more of Bauline Line," said Minister Barrett. "Im confident motorists will be pleased with the results when work is completed on these roads."

The Department of Works, Services and Transportation plans to build an additional lane on Route 20, from the Torbay Town Hall towards Quarry Road; and pave 1.7 kilometres of Bauline Line, which is a continuation of last years project. The department also plans to replace the culvert at Moultons Brook in Pouch Cove and carry out repairs to the road in Bauline.

The department expects to call tenders for the projects over the next several weeks.
