Road improvements in District of Bellevue

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation and MHA - Bellevue, announced today road upgrades planned for the area as part of the 2002-2003 provincial capital roads program.

"Improving roads in the province is a priority for this department and I am pleased with the amount of work which will be carried out this year," said Minister Barrett. "Motorists will see a definite improvement when these upgrades are completed."

The department plans to upgrade and re-pave 3.2 kilometres of Route 2-1-07 in Sunnyside; upgrade and re-pave a section of Garden Cove Road and North Harbour Road; and pave approximately 4.6 kilometres of English Harbour East Road.

The department expects to call tenders for the projects over the next several weeks.
