Improvements for roads in Baie Verte expected for 2002-2003

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, announced today there will be significant road upgrades carried out in the district of Baie Verte in 2002-2003.

"This department strives to improve the transportation infrastructure in Newfoundland and Labrador," said Minister Barrett. "We have made significant investments in improving roads in this area over the last few years and I am pleased to once again invest in upgrading the roads of Baie Verte district."

The projects planned for 2002-2003 include upgrading and re-paving a section of the La Scie Highway; paving a section of Wild Cove Road; and paving a section of Woodstock Road. The department expects to call tenders for the projects over the next several weeks.
