National girls basketball championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador midget girls basketball team defeated the New Brunswick team at the national championships in New Brunswick with a score of 71-39. The half-time score was 43-21 in favor of the Newfoundland and Labrador team. Sarah Sullivan of Calvert led all scorers with 15 points, while Stephanie Foo from Corner Brook had 12 points and Sheena Vickers from Witless Bay had11 points.
