NLIS 6 March 22, 2002 (Tourism, Culture and Recreation) The following is being distributed at the request of the Sport Newfoundland and Labrador: Provincial Pepsi Basketball Championships The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will host six Minor Pepsi Championships this weekend in various corners of the island. St. Bon�s will play host to the East Coast Under 12 Girls "A" Championship with eight teams competing. The East Coast Under 12 Girls "B" event will take place at St. Francis of Assisi in Outer Cove with five teams. The East Coast Boys "A" event will take place at Hazelwood Elementary in St. John�s with eight teams competing while the East Coast "B" event will take place in Mount Pearl at Newtown Elementary with five teams vying for the title. Corner Brook will host 18 teams in the West Coast Under 12 Boys and Girls Championships, which will be held at St. Gerard�s and JJ Curling schools. Tournament play will commence on Friday and will conclude Saturday evening with the championship games.
