The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

Provincial Pepsi Basketball Championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold two of its Minor Provincial Pepsi Club Championships this weekend, February 8 and 9 with 10 teams participating in the Mini Championships.

The Mini Under 12 Boys event will be held at St. John Bosco School with Shea Heights, Cowan Heights sixes and Cowan Heights fives, Mount Pearl, and Placentia Minor participating.

The Mini Under 12 Girls event will take place at St. Matthew�s Elementary. Teams participating include Cowan Heights fives and Cowan Heights sixes, Goulds Hoopsters # 1 and Hoopsters #2 and Holy Cross of Holyrood.

The tournaments are scheduled to start on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and will conclude with the championship games on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
