City Tire Goodyear Classic High School Invitational Volleyball Tournament

Seventeen teams from Clarenville to St. John�s competed in this past weekend�s City Tire/Goodyear Classic High School Invitational Volleyball Tournament hosted by the Sabres Volleyball Club, Conception Bay South (February 1-2, 2002).

Results:
Gold Medal Game (girls):
Queen Elizabeth/Sabres (Gold) vs. Bishop�s Barons (Silver): 25-18, 25-14.

Gold Medal Game (boys):
Clarenville High (Gold) vs. Booth Senior (Silver): 16-25; 25-21, 15-13.

Bronze Medal Game (girls):
Roncolli Avondale (Bronze) vs. Holy Spirit Falcons: 25-19, 25-9.

Bronze Medal Game (boys):
Ascension Senior Bay Roberts (Bronze) vs. Queen Elizabeth Sabres: 25-20, 25-15

MVP (Girls): Cynthia Littlejohn, Queen Elizabeth/Sabres.
MVP (Boys): Matt Vivian, Clarenville High School.

Members of the Girls Gold Medal Team: Cecile Fagan, Cynthia Littlejohn, Shalanda Phillips, Rhiannon Morgan, Krista Parsons, Lacey Haines, Michelle Harvey, Hilary Hutton, Katie Fagan, Natasha Noseworthy, Catherine Burlock, coach Terry Mosher.

Members of the Boys Gold Medal Team: Daniel Manning, John Murphy, Keith Abbott, Daniel Norman, Brian Smith, Matt Vivian, Andrew Cuff, Mitch Randell, Brad Laite, Sheldon Coish, Mike Legge and coach Randy Manning.

The girls Queen Elizabeth/Sabres team have improved their national / provincial record for the 2001 / 2002 season to 101 wins and 11 losses and have just been nominated for 2002 Team of the Year Award - Sport Newfoundland and Labrador.
