Basketball Elite Eight name change

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association would like to announce the change in name of one of its premier tournaments. The Elite Eight Basketball Championship will now be called The Hall of Fame Cup. This change allows us to make the connection between our stars of today and our heroes of the past. The Hall of Fame Cup will continue to be awarded to the winners, both male and female, of the competition between the top eight high school teams in Newfoundland and Labrador.

In making this announcement, the NLBA identifies the importance of recognizing the contribution of our basketball community to the past, present and future of our game. The Hall of Fame Cup will continue to inspire our athletes to set high goals, and work hard to achieve them.
