2002 Games Playdowns

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be hosting six female tournaments in various regions of the province this weekend, January 11-12, to determine which school teams will participate at the 2002 Newfoundland and Labrador Winter Games in Gander. The games are slated for February 23 - March 2 at various venues in and around the Gander area. Tournament sites include: St. Kevin's of the Goulds, Mount Pearl Junior High, St. Lawrence, Fogo Island, Xavier in Deer Lake and Menihek High of Labrador City. Over 50 teams have applied to compete for one of eight spots at the games. The male playdowns will compete next weekend for their representation at the games.
