Notice of Newfoundland Standard Time

Municipal and Provincial Affairs Minister Oliver Langdon advises residents of Newfoundland and Labrador that as of 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, the time will revert to Newfoundland Standard Time and will remain in effect until Sunday, April 6, 2003. Clocks will go back one hour from Daylight Savings Time to Newfoundland Standard Time.

As minister responsible for fire prevention, Minister Langdon also encourages citizens to check the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, when they change the time on their clocks. "Safe practices, save lives," he said.
