George Sweeney, MHA - Carbonear-Harbour Grace, on behalf of Oliver Langdon, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, announced today an offer of $4.5 million to the Town of Carbonear for a Multi-Year Municipal Capital Works Agreement.

"I am very pleased that this level of funding has been made available to the Town of Carbonear. This is something which I have been working for within government and the announcement of this expenditure is very important to the residents of the town. This funding will play a role in the continued growth of the district and I will continue to pursue other projects in the future," said Sweeney.

Discussions with municipalities and the finalization of priority lists will be completed within weeks. Details of individual projects that will be completed under this specific agreement will be announced during the official signing between the municipality and the province.
