Charges laid for failure to comply with officers order

Labour Minister Anna Thistle has advised that Canada Bay Lumber Company Limited of Roddickton will make its first court appearance in Roddickton on September 26, 2002, for alleged violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The charges stem from a site visit conducted by the Department of Labours Occupational Health and Safety Division in September 2001.

The company faces two charges under the act, including failure to give an officer reasonable help to enable him to carry out his duties and functions, and failure to comply with an order issued by an officer.
