New Labour Relations Director appointed

Labour Minister Anna Thistle is pleased to announce the appointment of Wayne Fowler as the Director of Labour Relations.

Mr. Fowler has been employed with the Department of Labour since 1977, and has spent the past five years as senior mediator, working with business and labour on complex labour relations issues.

"In his role as senior mediator Mr. Fowler has gained the respect of the business and labour communities," said Minister Thistle. "I am confident that his appointment will greatly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Labour Relations Division in responding to labour relations issues."

The Labour Relations Division provides mediation services to employees and employers who are involved in the collective bargaining process. In addition, the division provides preventive mediation services designed to improve labour relations and promote problem solving in the workplace.
