Appointments to Judicial Council

Justice Minister and Attorney General Kelvin Parsons is pleased to announce the re-appointment of the Honourable Mr. Justice Robert Wells as chairperson, and the appointments of Helen King and Brenda Turner as members of the province�s Judicial Council.

The functions of the Judicial Council of the Provincial Court of Newfoundland fall into two broad areas: make recommendations with respect to the applicants for appointments as Provincial Court Judges and deal with complaints brought against a judge in relation to his or her conduct.

The appointments are for a three-year term and are effectively immediately.
