Newfoundland and Labrador representatives to participate in international workboat show

Representatives of nine Newfoundland and Labrador companies and organizations will travel to New Orleans for the 2002 International Workboat Show that runs from December 4-7. The Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development organized the Newfoundland and Labrador delegation that includes commercial marine manufacturers, boatbuilders, distributors and service providers.

"Government made a commitment in its Renewal Strategy for Jobs and Growth to market and promote the province�s marine technological capabilities and expertise," said Industry, Trade and Rural Development Minister Kelvin Parsons. "There is an abundance of marine technological expertise in Newfoundland and Labrador and the International Workboat Show is one way we can tell the world about our capabilities and assist our companies to penetrate new markets."

The provincial delegation includes representatives of:

  • Aqua Purge, Lewisporte;
  • Industrial Marine Lighting, Mount Pearl;
  • Oceanic Corporation, St. John�s;
  • Genoa Design, Kelligrews;
  • Consolidated Technologies Ltd., St. John�s;
  • ICAN, Mount Pearl;
  • Diesel Injection Sales and Service, St. John�s;
  • C&W Industrial Fabrication and Marine Equipment, Bay Bulls; and
  • Marine Institute - Centre for Marine Simulation, St. John�s.

The International Workboat Show is North America�s premier trade show for inland and coastal marine companies. It is the largest and most recognized show of its kind in the world. The show boasts over 900 exhibitors, buyers from 48 different countries and a 24 year history.
