Call for delegates to participate in Offshore Technology Conference 2002

The Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development is recruiting stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to join the Newfoundland and Labrador delegation at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2002, which will take place from May 6-9 in Houston, Texas. Newspaper advertisements will appear in local newspapers beginning January 12.

The Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development has organized a delegation to attend the largest oil and gas trade show in North America for the past 20 years. In 2001, approximately 80 Newfoundland and Labrador delegates attended the show. In 2002, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will exhibit in a prime location in Reliant Park - a new facility that was built to accommodate the growing popularity of the show.

Founded in 1969, the OTC is the world's foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection.

Attending OTC exposes oil and gas business leaders and other delegates to the latest advancements and discoveries in the offshore industry. It is a setting for discovering new technologies, establishing international business relationships, enhancing business development, and discovering solutions to key issues in the offshore industry. The theme of OTC 2002 is "Deep into the Future."
