The province will host the 2002 Joint Conference of the Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees and the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors from August 25 to August 27 in St. John�s. The Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees is comprised of representatives from the Public Accounts Committees of all jurisdictions in Canada. The Conference of Legislative Auditors is comprised of the Auditors General from all jurisdictions in Canada and senior members of their staff.

The conference business sessions will commence on Monday, August 26, with a joint session on "Measuring a Government�s Bottom Line" to be held at the St. John�s Convention Centre. The two groups will then hold their separate business sessions with the Public Accounts Committee Group meeting at the Convention Centre and the Auditors General Group meeting at the Delta St. John�s Hotel.

Mr. Loyola Sullivan, MHA & Chair, Public Accounts Committee, and Mr. Eddie Joyce, MHA & Vice-Chair, Public Accounts Committee, will host the annual conference of the Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees, while Mr. John Noseworthy, Auditor General of Newfoundland and Labrador, will host the annual conference of the Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors.
