Minister to outline automobile insurance reform bill

Walter Noel, Minister of Government Services and Lands, will hold a news conference, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17, at 10 a.m. in the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block Confederation Building. At that time, Minister Noel will outline details of Bill 28, an act to amend the Automobile Insurance Act, the Insurance Companies Act, and the Highway Traffic Act. This proposed legislation responds to issues arising from government consultation on insurance and is designed to bring about significant improvements in the way the automobile insurance industry operates.

Mr. Noel will be joined at the news conference by deputy minister Barbara Wakeham and Winston Morris, superintendent of insurance.

Copies of the bill and a summary of key changes will be available at the conference.
