Two men convicted on big game offences

Forty-year old Don Clements of St. John's and 43 year old Neil Tapper of Torbay were recently convicted of illegal possession of big game during a court appearance in St. Johns. The men were fined $1,000 each and prohibited from entering the big game draw for five years.

Charges were laid following an investigation by conservation officers with the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods that began in December 2001. The investigation also involved a man from Bauline who was convicted earlier this year of two counts of illegally killing big game and fined $2,500 and prohibited from entering the big game draw for five years.
