St. John�s men plead guilty to Forestry Act violations

Two St. John�s men recently pleaded guilty in provincial court in St. John�s to violations under the Forestry Act. Forty-six year old Eric Frizzell was fined $500 for non-compliance of a cutting permit and 65 year old Sylvester Frizzell was fined $500 for cutting without a commercial cutting permit. In addition, a quantity of sawlogs was seized and forfeited to the Crown.

Charges were laid by conservation officers with the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods. The offences took place in early July 2002 in the Goulds area.
