Forestry officials seeking assistance in forest fire investigation

Officials with the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods are seeking the public�s assistance in investigating five wildland fires that are believed to have been intentionally lit in the St. Brides-Cuslett area on the Cape Shore of the Avalon Peninsula. The wild fires were lit on May 14 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Anyone with information related to these wild fires is asked to please call the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods� Paddy�s Pond office or the Whitbourne or Placentia detachment of the RCMP. Also, information can be forwarded to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPs (8477). Crime Stoppers offer up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction related to this or any crime.
