Foxtrap resident pleads guilty to wildlife charges

A Foxtrap resident plead guilty to charges under the Wildlife Act during a recent court appearance in Gander. Randell Upshall has been convicted of big game hunting without a valid licence and tags. He was fined $1,000 and prohibited from hunting big game for five years. Mr. Upshall was also fined $200 for altering a big game licence and tags.

The charges were laid following an investigation in the Deadwolf Pond area by conservation officers with the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods. The investigation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of big game meat, which was forfeited to the Crown along with a firearm and ammunition.
