Premier welcomes home members of Canadian Forces

Premier Roger Grimes today expressed his thanks to the Canadian men and women serving in the countrys military and welcomed them home from their mission in Afghanistan.

"I am pleased that the men and women of our armed forces have come home and are able to return to their families and friends," said Premier Grimes. "Of course, we express our sympathies for those who lost loved ones in this dangerous mission."

In particular, Premier Grimes expressed a special welcome home to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who served their country. The premier said that the people of this province have reason to be proud of the way they represented the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

"I extend an especially warm greeting to those residents and natives of Newfoundland and Labrador who have returned home from this mission against terrorism. On behalf of the people of this province, we want you to know that we are proud of you and thankful for your dedicated service to protect our country. We welcome you home, and thank you."
