Premier offers condolence following Air Force crash in Labrador

Premier Roger Grimes today offered condolences to the families of the two pilots who were tragically killed following the crash of a Canadian Air Force Griffon helicopter in Labrador yesterday. Two additional crew members were injured in the crash.

"The province is deeply saddened by this tragic event and the thoughts and prayers of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are with the families of the crew involved in yesterdays incident," said the premier. "We are very proud of the women and men that serve in Canadas armed forces and we acknowledge the great sacrifices they make to safeguard the well being of this country."

In response, the Premiers Office has ordered that all flags on public buildings in the province be lowered to half mast as a sign of respect to the pilots and their families.
