Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Kevin Aylward has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Cape St. George Snowmobile Race Track and Sliding/Tube Park
Proponent: Mr. Roderick J. Campbell

The proponent proposes to construct a one quarter (1/4) mile oval snowmobile race track at Garden Hill, near Cape St. George on the Port Au Port Peninsula. The proposed snowmobile race track is planned to be located adjacent to the proponent�s existing hotel and club and utilize the parking lot facilities of these two establishments. Also, proposed at the rear of the facility is a sliding/tube park. The undertaking was registered on November 13, 2002; public comments are due by December 19, 2002; and the minister�s decision is due by December 28, 2002.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
