Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Kevin Aylward has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act.

NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Harcourt Area Forestry Access Road
Proponent: Oliver Stanley

The proponent proposes to construct a 1.5 kilometre Class C Forest Access Road in the general location of Snook's Brook near Harcourt. The road will be an extension to an existing road and will give the commercial harvester access to mature black spruce-balsam fir forest (approximately 5,526 cubic metres). The undertaking was registered on April 5; public comments are due on May 13; and the minister's decision is due on May 20.

Hatchet Cove Golf Course Expansion (9 Holes)
Proponent: Brookside Resort Limited

The proponent proposes a nine hole expansion to an existing nine hole golf course at Hatchet Cove, Southwest Arm, Trinity Bay. The expansion will be located on 32 hectares of land immediately east of the present golf course. The undertaking was registered on April 8; public comments are due on May 13; and the minister's decision is due on May 23.
