Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Ralph Wiseman has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act.

NEW UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Middle Trout River/Governor's Pond, District 15 Five-Year FMD Amendment
Proponent: Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods

The proponent has submitted an amendment to the Crown Five-Year Operating Plan for Forest Management District 15 (Pasadena Forestry Office) for the operating period April 1998 to March 2003. The amendment is proposed for the Middle Trout River / Governor's Pond area to construct 3.0 kilometres of primary forest roads to access 6,000 cubic metres of timber for harvesting between July 2002 and March 2003. The undertaking was registered on March 26; public comments are due by April 30; and the minister's decision is due on May 10.
