Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Ralph Wiseman has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act.

NEW UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Cat Arm/Harbour Deep Snowmobile Trail
Proponent: Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile Federation

This proposal is for the construction of a snowmobile trail in the Cat Arm Reservoir area to west of Harbour Deep within the Long Range Mountains, in the central region of the Great Northern Peninsula. Two sections of the trail are proposed to link up existing woods roads and other sections of the snowmobile trail. Section one is proposed from near Brian's Pond to the Cat Arm Reservoir, a distance of approximately 22 kilometres. Section two is proposed from the Cat Arm Reservoir to Sam's Pond, a distance of approximately 25 kilometres. The undertaking was registered on March 22, 2002; public comments are due by April 26, 2002; and the minister's decision is due on May 6, 2002.
