Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Ralph Wiseman has announced the following events relative to the Environmental Assessment Act.

NEW UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Crown District 14 (St. George's Region) Five Year Operating Plan (2002-07)
Proponent: Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods

The proponent proposes forest harvesting, road construction, and silviculture activities in District 14 which includes the communities from Gallants to Port aux Basques and those east of Grey River. The five year plan extends from April 1, 2002 to March 31, 2007 and is for unalienated Crown land. The undertaking was registered on January 28, 2002 public comments are due March 6, 2002 and the minister's decision is due March 14, 2002.
