Preliminary Count

Based on preliminary vote counts received by telephone, from two advance polls, 36 regular polls, and the special mail-in ballot count, the results of the November 12, 2002 by election in the Electoral District of Conception Bay South are as follows:

CORBETT, Gary Liberal   950
FRENCH, Terry Progressive Conservative  4,761
PRICE, Ann  New Democrat     73
Total Votes Cast:  5,784

The official addition of the votes for the by election in Conception Bay South is scheduled to take place at the office of the Returning Officer, 33 Kelliview Avenue, Conception Bay South at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2002. Upon conclusion of the official addition of the votes, the candidate who receives the largest number of votes shall be declared elected by the returning officer.
