NOTE TO EDITORS:

Creating Peaceful Schools - A Forum on Bullying

On Thursday, May 30, the Department of Education will facilitate a one-day conference to look at the issue of bullying and set in motion a plan to develop a provincial policy on bullying.

The forum is bringing together approximately120 participants, including school boards, the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers� Association, the Federation of School Councils, other government departments, the Safe and Caring Schools Advisory Committee, which includes representation from police forces, and educational psychologists, guidance counselors, teachers and students.

An itinerary is provided.

The forum will be held at the Airport Plaza Hotel in St. John�s and begins at 9:00 a.m.
