$950,000 for Humber Valley roads

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, and Rick Woodford, MHA - Humber Valley, today announced government has allocated $950,000 for road improvements in the area.

"This funding will concentrate on improvements to Howley Road and roads in the Bonne Bay area, which we feel need to be addressed this year," said Barrett. "Motorists will definitely see major improvements to these areas once the work is done."

Projects planned for the area include repairing shoulder erosion and resurfacing a section of Howley Road, resurfacing sections of roads in the Bonne Bay area; and replacing a culvert on the old Trans Canada Highway near Little Falls Bridge.

"Im extremely pleased with these road improvement projects for Humber Valley, which will benefit not only residents in the area but also visitors traveling to this beautiful part of our province," said Woodford.

The department expects to call tenders for the projects over the next couple of months.
