Almost half a million dollars for roads in Ferryland

Percy Barrett, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, today announced the district of Ferryland will receive $460,000 for road upgrades.

"This year�s funding for the area has been allocated for some much needed upgrades and culvert replacements," said Barrett. "We�re pleased to be able to address these areas and get the work done in this fiscal year."

Projects planned for 2001/02 include upgrading and resurfacing Admirals Cove Road; replacing culverts at Chance Cove Park and Sam�s River (Route 10); and, replacing arch culverts at Ferryland and Cape Broyle (Route 10).

The department expects to call tenders for the projects over the next couple of months.
