Road improvement projects announced for Conception Bay East and Bell Island

Works, Services and Transportation Minister Percy Barrett and MHA Jim Walsh today announced that $400,000 from the provincial capital roads funding has been allocated for road upgrades in the district of Conception Bay East and Bell Island.

"This year my department plans to direct funding towards some badly needed paving projects in the area," said Barrett. "Motorists traveling these roads will see a difference in the condition of the roads when the work is done."

This year, the department plans to upgrade and repave approximately three kilometres of Indian Meal Line and pave one kilometre of Bauline Line.

"I�m very pleased this paving work will be done on the Bauline Line and that work on Indian Meal Line will continue from last year," said Walsh.

The department expects to call tenders for the projects over the next couple of months.
