Basketball annual general meeting

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold its annual general meeting this weekend at Hotel St. John's on Kenmount Road. The meeting is slated for Saturday morning and will run from 9:00 a.m.-5: 00 p.m.. A Hall of Fame luncheon will take place at 12:30 p.m.. A meeting for the board will take place on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. at the hotel as well. 

Items on the agenda for this year include: a new constitution, policies for elite programs and for the association in general, minor and senior provincial championships, the elite eight and a presentation from Canada Basketball on a new program for 5-8 year old boys and girls. This program will roll out across the country this fall. 

Mr. Terry Burton, who has been president of the association for the past four years, will be stepping down at the meeting.
