The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

The Newfoundland and Labrador Volleyball Association hosted the Pepsi Junior High Girl's Provincial Championships this past weekend in Stephenville. Twenty-one teams fought for the top honours, but only one team could come out on top, Presentation 9's from Corner Brook. 

Each division was packed with competitive teams who had to fight for the top two spots to advance to the playoffs. 

Division A - Stephenville Flames, Legallis Memorial from Port au Port, Presentation 9's, Clarenville Cougars, Frank Roberts 9's. Presentation 9's from Corner Brook finished first with a record of 4/0 and Frank Roberts of CBS finished second with the record of 3/0.

Division B - Stephenville High, Presentation 8's, Xavier, G.C. Rowe, Discovery Collegiate, and St. Michael's from Bell Island. St. Michael's finished first from Bell Island with a record of 5/0 and Xavier from Deer Lake finished second with the record of 4/1

Division C - G. C. Rowe 8's from Corner Brook, Pasadena, Exploits Valley High, Smallwood Academy from Gambo, and St. Thomas Villanova. Exploits Valley High from Grand Falls-Windsor finished first with the record of 4/0, St. Thomas Villanova from St. John's, finished second at 3/1.

Division D - St. Thomas Aquinas, Presentation Too, Amalgamated Academy, St. Paul's Vipers from St. John's, and Random Island Eagles. Random Island Eagles finished first with a record of 4/0 and right behind them was Amalgamated Academy from Bay Roberts finishing second at 3/1.

Quarter Final # 1- Presentation 9's defeated Amalgamated Academy 25-18,19-25,15-13.
Quarter Final # 2- Frank Roberts defeated Random Island 25-15, 25-23.
Quarter Final # 3- St. Thomas Villanova defeated St. Michael's 25-21, 20-25,16-14.
Quarter Final # 4- Xavier defeated EVH 25-16, 21-25,16-14.

Presentation 9's defeated Xavier 25-17,25-17 in the first semi-final match up. In semi-final #2, Frank Roberts defeated St. Thomas Villanova in three, scores were 25-18, 23-25,15-13. 

The bronze medal was between Xavier and St. Thomas Villanova where Xavier came out on top with the scores of 25-12, 25-17. 

The gold medal match was a great one between the two top teams in Division A, Frank Roberts of CBS and Presentation 9's of Corner Brook. Presentation 9's came out on top defeating Frank Roberts 25-22, 25-19. The Most Spirited Player was awarded to Kayla Lewis of St. Thomas Villanova.
